Voice Over Internet Protocol, also known as VoIP, offers a lot of features that traditional phones can’t even begin to compare with. Most of these are for free but you can also order for additional and advanced features such as the ones listed below to increase the productivity of your VoIP system.
Telemarketer Blocking
This advanced VoIP feature doesn’t mean your phone will have psychic abilities and able to determine which numbers belong to telemarketers. Sorry, but there’s no magic involved in this particular blocking process.
Rather, your VoIP phone is able to detect which calls have been made using dialing machines commonly utilized by telemarketers. Upon detection, your VoIP phone will then use a different tone for your call in order to misinform the telemarketer about the status of your machine. The result: telemarketers will think your phone is out of service and consequently remove your phone number from their list.
PC Phone Calls
VoIP can work even without the benefit of a phone. First, however, you’ll need a PC, a standard headset with microphone, and of course, the software program for your VoIP. Your VoIP provider should give you your own registered copy of the application.
To turn your PC into a VoIP phone, just install the program, go online, and that’s it. Have fun calling!
Number Preferences
VoIP gives users a lot of flexibility to enjoy when it comes to their phone numbers. Keep in mind, however, that these privileges are only applicable as long as you stay with your present VoIP provider.
Now, if you want to keep your current number then you can do so but only as long as you keep your account with your present VoIP service provider. It doesn’t matter where you go or where you use your VoIP system. The area code may change, but your main phone number would remain the same!
But what if you want it the other way around? Someone’s harassing you on the phone or maybe your number’s been hacked. Whatever the reason, you can also request for a change of number with your VoIP service provider. In some cases, you may even get your preferred number.
Anonymous Call Blocks
Do you have some experience with jerks making prank calls using a private number? Don’t care to have the experience repeated? If so, you can have your VoIP provider add anonymous call blocks to your system’s features and calls with unidentified numbers will be automatically blocked.
There’s more to enjoy with VoIP but to know about that, why not contact your local VoIP provider now?
