Life in Rhode Island is generally regarded as pleasant but it can only be better if you’ve got VoIP service installed. For the perfect voice over Internet protocol or VoIP package, consider adding these three key features: speed dialing, unlimited to US/Canada, and SMS.
Speed Dialing
This is a key feature offered by all landline and mobile phones so why shouldn’t it be offered by VoIP phones as well? Speed dialing for VoIP works the same way. Make a list of the phone numbers – local or international – that you contact the most. Next, assign a speed digit number for each contact. 01 could be reserved for your spouse, 02 could be for your mother, 03 could be your number at home, and so forth.
To use speed dialing, you just need to dial the speed digit number, your phone will make the necessary interpretation for your shortcut command, and your call will consequently push through.
As for how many numbers you can preset for speed dialing, that’s something you’ll just have to ask your VoIP service provider about. Speed dialing is beneficial for everyone because it saves you time on dialing, allows kids an easier time of contacting the right people, and it’s a convenient way to call people when you’re busy. Certainly, there’s no need of memorizing numbers, too!
Unlimited to US or Canada
This feature may not be offered by your preferred VoIP service provider so make sure you ask about it first.
This feature is great if you believe most, if not, all of your calls will be directed to individuals living either in the United States and Canada. This wonderful feature lets you talk to loved ones as long as they want without having to suffer exorbitant fees. Rather, this allows them to pay just a minimal fee for an unlimited number of minutes.
SMS
Whoever said SMS is only for mobile phones obviously didn’t get the memo; VoIP systems, being much more powerful than mobile or landline phones, are SMS-capable as well.
SMS, also known as short message system, are text-based messages of limited length and generally sent and received using mobile phones. You can, however, enjoy the same uses of the feature with your VoIP phone.
The rates are basically the same, but you could still make use of this if the person you’re talking to wishes for a written copy of your message or one he can save in his phone’s archive folders.
