Extra Virtual Numbers
Just like a traditional phone unit can be programmed to answer to more than one line, your VoIP system can also be made capable of the same thing. For that to happen, however, you’ll need to apply for an extra virtual number.

Virtual numbers are, of course, only applicable with VoIP systems and not with traditional phone communication. As with all numbers used for your VoIP phone, it’s up to you to determine what area code should be assigned for each number.

Extra virtual numbers is basically best for effective call management. An additional virtual number can be used if you wish to separate business from personal calls. You can also request for more virtual numbers for further segregation of business calls; you could assign one line for your clients, another for your suppliers, and so forth.

Multi-Ring
Call forwarding feature is great and all, but for many people, it’s best considered as a last resort. For those who prefer to take their calls themselves, they would find the multi-ring feature quite helpful.

With multi-ring, multiple phones are programmed to ring when the number for your VoIP system is contacted. This includes your mobile phone, landline number, or the company phone. You can even program your VoIP system to include your pager in your multi-ring list; if so, let’s hope your caller won’t be taken aback too much when an operator picks up his call.

When the call finally pushes through, other phones will cease ringing. VoIP providers will generally allow you to choose a maximum of four phone numbers – international or local - to make up your multi-ring list. Choose wisely!

Return Call
This is another quick-fix feature for VoIP users hard pressed for time. Let’s say you end up missing a call because you were too busy sleeping, working, or you’re watching your favorite TV show and every second counts. Whatever the case, when you’re free to answer, you only have to press some buttons and you’ll be able to return the call immediately.
